What is a Career Mentor?
Mentors can help you tremendously with your career growth. Career mentors are individuals who share their experience and knowledge in your same industry. They will give you advice and guidance to help you find success. Great career mentors are irreplaceable!
How Do I Find a Mentor?
Look no further than your humble instructors. You don’t have to look far as our industry experienced faculty our great resources for mentorship and guidance throughout the game development, animation and VFX fields.
Another great way to find a mentor is looking for volunteer opportunities or internships at studios. The person or people that you would be shadowing could be your next mentor. Everyone who is into their entry-level stage of their career could use a mentor, but what if studios aren’t look for volunteers or interns? Using internet resources like LinkedIn and certain Facebook groups are another effective way of finding a mentor. Social media networking sites that also host events online on Discord and in-person events, like game jams, workshops, or even at conventions like PAX West or PAX South.
